DIEFFENBACHER has announced the death of Dr Werner Hoffman, the technical managing director of the group from 1994-2009 and the managing director of the DIEFFENBACHER subsidiary in German city Leverkusen until his retirement in 2011.
According to DIEFFENBACHER, Dr Hoffman passed away “unexpectedly” on 22 Dec 2023 at the age of 77.
In his 17 years with DIEFFENBACHER, Dr Hoffmann played a key role in shaping the company and, together with Wolf-Gerd Dieffenbacher, entrepreneur and previous CEO of the company, developed it from a press manufacturer into an international supplier of complete plants.
As technical managing director, Dr Hoffmann emphasised the quality and timely completion of customer orders as well as the technical and technological development of DIEFFENBACHER solutions and products. His passion and mastery of these tasks added value throughout his tenure, as praised by DIEFFENBACHER.
“In Werner Hoffmann, we are losing a person who was highly valued by the entire workforce and a leader who never forgot his humour and optimism, even in times of crisis. Those of us who knew him well will always remember him fondly,” said his long-time work companion Wolf-Gerd Dieffenbacher.
“On behalf of the entire company, I would like to express our deepest sympathy to his family.”
