Laminate panel producer Argolite has become a part of the Swiss Krono Group.

The legal independence of Argolite, the Willisau plant and the jobs there will be retained by the company itself. Rolf Wermelinger, previously head of Marketing and Sales, has already taken over as the general manager of Argolite as of 1 Jan 2024.

The previous owner and managing director of Argolite, Markus Höchli, is on hand to advise him.

“With this step, Swiss Krono Group can significantly expand its position in the Swiss interiors and project business and strengthen its HPL expertise,” said Martin Brettenthaler, CEO and president of the Executive Committee of Swiss Krono Group.

According to a LinkedIn post by Swiss Krono Group, Argolite has been producing laminate panels since 1953 and is the only Swiss manufacturer of high pressure laminate (HPL) in accordance with the EN438 quality standard. The company has around 80 employees.

Argolite specialises in the health and education segments and has a strong distribution network in Switzerland. It is therefore “an ideal addition” to Swiss Krono’s product portfolio and also represents a clear commitment to their home market and location in Switzerland.
