Machine manufacturer for furniture production IMA Schelling Group has opened a subsidiary in Istanbul to be closer to its customers in the Turkish market.

According to the group, the Turkish furniture market’s turnover is estimated at almost US$8bn in 2024, and annual growth of almost 9% is forecasted for the next five years.

“Over 300 of our machines are in use in the country, a third of them in Istanbul,” explained Enes Morkoc, director service of IMA Schelling Istanbul Makina.

This is why the IMA Schelling Group opened its subsidiary in Istanbul in January 2024, more precisely on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus metropolis.

“We see potential in the expanding Turkish market,” added Simon Waterbaer, director sales at IMA Schelling. The group also has plans to exhibit at the Woodtech trade fair in Istanbul from 12-16 Oct 2024.

The newly established site now provides customers in the Turkish market with service and spare parts support as well as assistance with the installation of new machines.

“We want to support our local customers faster and more efficiently,” emphasised Morkoc. An expansion of the team to include service technicians is planned in the foreseeable future.
