XLam appoints Gary Caulfield as new CEO

Gary Caulfied, new CEO of XLam NZ Ltd

New Zealand CLT manufacturer XLam has appointed Gary Caulfield as Chief Executive Officer. Mr Caulfield succeeds co-founder Robin Jack and will take over with effect from March 14.

“Gary brings us a wealth of world class, innovative construction and exemplary leadership experience. He has successfully delivered major prefabricated construction projects in New Zealand and overseas, including involvement in finance, legal, design and site management,” said Mr Jack.

He added that Mr Caulfield’s knowledge of the construction industry, as well as previous experience and election as a past chairman of PreFabNZ will help the company’s involvement with larger commercial projects to grow.

“The company is in good hands,” said Mr Jack.

Mr Jack will retain his position as a shareholder and director on the XLam Board.

XLam chairman Martin Kriewaldt said, “Mr Jack is a successful entrepreneur with exceptional foresight. His hard work, experience and entrepreneurial spirit have paid off.”

“I’m sure all the employees, clients and friends of XLam will join me in thanking Robin for his hard work throughout the years of trials, testing, sales and partnerships,” concluded Mr Kriewaldt.

XLam, based in Nelson, is the only CLT manufacturer in the southern hemisphere.
