The DP 1-40 system aims to reduce material use and improve surface quality across industrial applications, including the coating of furniture parts.

Wagner has introduced a new double diaphragm pump designed for airspray coating applications, with a focus on reducing material consumption and improving surface consistency.
The DP 1-40 is positioned as a successor to the company’s DD 10 model and is intended for use in low-pressure coating processes. It can support both manual applications — supplying one or two spray guns — and automated systems, where it can be integrated with mixing or colour change systems to supply up to four guns.
The company said the system is suitable for a range of industries, including wood, plastics, metal and glass, offering a compact solution for different liquid coating requirements.
Focus on efficiency and material savings

According to Wagner, the pump’s low double stroke volume helps to reduce paint and solvent consumption, particularly in processes requiring frequent colour changes.
A typical flushing cycle uses around 0.4 litres of cleaning agent, which the company said is up to 70% less than comparable systems. This can contribute to lower material costs and reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
The pump’s design also minimises areas where material can accumulate, improving cleaning efficiency and reducing downtime between production runs.
Low pulsation and simplified setup
A key feature of the DP 1-40 is its low-pulsation material flow, which allows it to operate in many cases without a material pressure regulator.
This is intended to produce a more consistent spray pattern while reducing system complexity, maintenance requirements and overall equipment costs. The pump operates from a starting pressure of 1.0 bar, with the option to add a regulator where lower pressures are required.
Flexible operation and integration
The system includes adjustable controls for pump pressure and atomising air, allowing operators to adapt settings to different applications.
It can be installed in a range of configurations, with a control unit that can be mounted horizontally or vertically. Additional accessories, including mobile frames, suction systems and distribution components, are available to support different production setups.
Designed for a range of coating materials
Wagner said the pump is compatible with a wide variety of coatings, including water- and solvent-based materials, two-component paints and more sensitive substances.
Material-contact components are made from aluminium, stainless steel and engineered polymers, allowing the system to be used across different industrial environments.
Maintenance and servicing
The pump has a modular design intended to simplify maintenance. Key components are accessible and can be replaced using standard tools, with diaphragm replacement taking less than 15 minutes, according to the company.
