Vietnam’s forestry exports are slated to hit US$6.64 billion

According to Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, trade surplus of key forestry products in Vietnam hit US$4.97 billion, with wood and wood products making up US$4.64 billion alone.

For the first nine months of 2018, the United States (U.S.), Europe, China, and the Republic of Korea were the leading importers of wood and wood products from Vietnam, account for 86.72 per cent of the country’s total export revenue.

Presently, Vietnam has approximately 161,000 hectares of forestry planted, and the forestry sector expects to realise a total forestry export revenue of US$9 billion as well as 41.65 per cent of forestry coverage by the end of 2018, according to Nhan Dan (People) newspaper.
