Vietnam forestry exports exceeds US$5 billion in first half of 2020

The Vietnam Administration of Forestry has announced that the export revenue of forestry products hit US$5.3 billion in the first half of 2020, up 2.7% over the same period last year. The total export value of such products is expected to reach between US$11.75 to US$12 billion. 

On the other hand, the import value of wood and wood products over the same period decreased 8.8% to US$1.2 billion, and the agency estimates the yearly figure to match 2019 at around US$2.55 billion.  

In the first six months, 106,300 ha of forest were planted, fulfilling 48.3% of the yearly target of 220,000 ha.
