Vietnam-China wood products trade reaches US$425 million in 1Q/2015

Vietnam’s wood product exports to China reached US$425 million in the first half of 2015, despite China’s apparent trade deficit with Vietnam, according to the Secretary General of the Vietnam Wood and Forest Products Processing.

Between 2012 and 2014 Vietnam exported an estimated US$1 billion of wood products to China, making the Mainland the third largest importer of Vietnamese goods, just behind the U.S. and Japan.

Wood products- such as wood chips, logs, sawnwood, wood-based panels and furniture- between China and Vietnam generates close to US$600 million of profits annually.
