US hardwood flooring imports up 11% in July

US hardwood flooring imports were expanded 11% in July compared to the same period last year to reach US$4.3 million, while assembled flooring imports fell to US$15.5 million.

Hardwood flooring from Indonesia declined while imports from China and Malaysia were up. Products from China were almost one third higher in July compared to the same period last year.

Shipments of assembled flooring panels from China and Canada declined from June, but both countries remain the leading flooring suppliers to the US.

Indonesia shipped US$743,332 worth of assembled flooring in July, up 50% from June. Assembled flooring imports from Thailand continued growing (+22% month-over-month). Vietnam has also become a major supplier. In July it exported US$456,689 worth of assembled flooring panels to the US.
