The inaugural edition of Malaysian Wood Expo 2019 takes off

The inaugural edition of Malaysian Wood Expo will be happening on November 19 to 21 at the PUTRA World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The trade show is jointly organised by the Malaysian Timber Council and Panels & Furniture Group of wood magazines, two of the powerhouses in Southeast Asia’s timber and woodworking sector. It is endorsed by the Malaysian Wood Industries Association (MWIA), The Timber Exporters’ Association of Malaysia (TEAM), Malaysian Panel-Products Manufacturers’ Association (MPMA), Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC), Malaysian Wood Moulding & Joinery Council (MWMJC), Association of Malaysian Bumiputra Timber and Furniture Entrepreneurs (PEKA), Ministry of Primary Industries, Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB), American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) and French Timber.

An extensive 7616 m2 of exhibition space will host 140 exhibitors/brands from 22 countries and regions. Malaysian Wood Expo is also looking forward to attracting thousands of visitors from the region.

A gathering of top brands from Europe, America and Asia

MWE 2019 will bring together top-notch brands to showcase their best products in this part of the world. Leading brands from the U.S., Germany, Italy, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Romania, Ukraine, Gabon and more will feature a myriad of woodworking machines and equipment, wood materials, tools and accessories as well as the latest technology to satisfy robust demand from the region.

Well-known woodworking machinery brands include HOMAG, SCM, DIEFFENBACHER, WEINIG, BÜRKLE, Wood-Mizer, Anthon, IMAL, PAL, IPCO, Schuler, Scheuch, Steinemann, Huntsman, Nanxing, KDT Malaysia, TEAM and many more. Software brands include PYTHA and Cabinet Vision.

Expect an excellent line-up of keynote speakers who will be presenting a wide range of interesting topics. International speakers include National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) and Huntsman Polyurethane from the U.S., Wood and Logistics Expert (WALE) from France, SCION Research Centre from New Zealand, Loggos Building Systems from Australia and China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association; topics such as grading rules, China’s timber market demand and supply, manufacturing innovation in traditional furniture industry, New Zealand’s Radiata Pine and new low-cost green engineered building system applicable to Southeast Asia will be discussed.
