Singapore brings together global industry leaders to showcase innovation and collaboration in the built environment.

The International Built Environment Week (IBEW) 2025 has opened today at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, featuring more than 200 exhibitors and participants from across the global construction and design sectors.
Camfil, a clean air solutions provider, will contribute to the inaugural IBEW Expert Series by sharing practical tools on scope one to three calculations and carbon reporting.
“As the first third-party verified APAC air filter supplier certified under the EPD International System, Camfil is committed to helping the region’s built environment sector advance sustainability goals while lowering long-term costs for building owners,” said Tobias Zimmer, senior vice-president of public affairs, sustainability and corporate communication at Camfil.
“IBEW continues to be an important platform for exchanging ideas and showcasing solutions that can address pressing challenges in the built environment. Through this year’s IBEW Expert Series, we are excited to share our knowledge and expertise, helping industry peers gain insights that can be directly applied to their projects,” he added.
Patrick Chia, director at Obayashi Singapore, highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in the city-state.
“As Obayashi celebrates its 60th anniversary of building in Singapore, we are honoured to have our experts speaking at the IBEW Expert Series and share their insights on how advanced robotics, climate-positive materials, and smart construction technology can help Singapore build more efficiently, sustainably, and resiliently. We are also proud to showcase our latest innovations at BEX Asia. This is the ideal platform to share our vision for the next decades of construction,” said Chia.
Held alongside the conference, BEX Asia 2025 will focus on digitalisation, sustainability and operational efficiency. Participants include Doxa Holdings International, Oracle Corporation Singapore, Signify Singapore and Milipede. The exhibition also highlights the region’s startup ecosystem, with technologies addressing financing, late payments, safety and workflow digitalisation.
“Construction works best when everyone wins: developers reduce project risks, contractors gain stability and smaller suppliers have fair access to capital. At BEX Asia 2025, Doxa is excited to demonstrate how deep-tier financing, developed in collaboration with Visa and regional banking partners, makes this possible by giving developers greater visibility into project health and building a trusted ecosystem that supports every tier of the supply chain. With financial security across the board, projects can be delivered with greater certainty, efficiency and trust,” said Edmund Ng, co-founder and CEO of Doxa Holdings International.
On 5 Sep 2025, BEX Asia will also host focused sessions. The WSH Tech and Grants for SMEs session will provide guidance and funding insights for small and medium-sized enterprises adopting workplace safety and health technologies. The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) will explore sustainable building solutions, including smart lighting, cooling and energy-efficient solutions. Attendees will be eligible for CPD points and gain access to resources supporting sustainability and safety practices.
Another feature of this year’s IBEW is the CORENET X Industry Seminar, which will share updates and industry practices. Firms that have completed a major milestone approval will present their experiences to guide others preparing submissions for CORENET X, Singapore’s integrated digital platform for building approvals.
From 1 Oct 2025, CORENET X will be mandatory for all new projects with a gross floor area of 30,000 sq m and above. The platform enables organisations to meet multiple agency requirements, resolve issues early and accelerate project completion.
At BEX Asia, the CORENET X concierge will allow visitors to test the platform and receive guidance from BCA and partner organisations. From submission portal to model export testing, visitors can explore tools and resources to prepare for implementation.
This year’s IBEW also highlights new collaborations in the built environment sector. BCA International will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bridge Data Centres to promote sustainability and innovative construction methods in developing green and smart data centres across Asia.
“This new partnership with BCA International underscores our shared commitment to supporting sustainable growth and digital transformation in the region. This is reflected in the BCA Green Mark Platinum certification recently achieved by our data centre in Malaysia — a demonstration of our ability to meet hyperscale demands while safeguarding resources for generations to come. By combining our expertise with BCA International, we can accelerate our journey towards net zero and deliver stronger, greener solutions for the future of data-driven, resilient infrastructure,” said Eric Fan, CEO of Bridge Data Centres.
In addition, Singapore Polytechnic will sign an MoU with the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) to foster new architectural talent and enhance professional capabilities through collaborative training and innovation.
IBEW additionally offers sector-specific programmes including the Building Engineering Seminar, which provides updates on policies and technical knowledge while gathering industry feedback; the Future Talent Programme, which encourages young professionals to explore careers in the built environment; the BCA Awards, recognising achievements in the sector; and exhibition zones such as the ConTech Exchange Pavilion.
