Sodra has resumed operations at its Langasjo sawmill in Sweden, producing panelling and cross beams, but also painted products—a product that has been growing annually since 2013.
These products are mainly sold to the domestic market and the Netherlands, two markets where the demand for construction timber is high.
In 2017, just over SEK 100 million ($12.5 million) was invested in the facility to increase capacity and achieve more efficient production. The initiative also created an additional 25 jobs.
Jörgen Lindquist, president of the Södra Wood business area, said, “The market demand is high and the investment has already generated positive results. The sawmill has been in full production with the new equipment since November 2017 and is performing according to plan.”
