Siempelkamp to supply Russian CJSC Murom complete OSB line

Contract agreement at the trade fair stand, Woodex 2017/Moscow (from left to right): Alexey Filatov (Technical Director CJSC “Murom”), Olga Tikhonova (General Director ZAO “Murom”), Hans-Joachim Galinski (Siempelkamp), Martin Krobbach (Siempelkamp), Jürgen Philipps (Siempelkamp Management Spokesman), Valery Kalesnikovich (Siempelkamp).

Russian plywood producer CJSC Murom has ordered a complete plant from Siempelkamp.

The ambitious goal of this cooperation is the development of OSB Advanced, an energy- and resource-efficient product.

With OSB Advanced and the new plant, JSC Murom will fully utilise round timber resources used in plywood production for its wood-based material production, thus saving considerable production costs. With OSB Advanced, CJSC Murom will be able to offer a formaldehyde-free OSB board, suitable for interior design and furniture.

Siempelkamp will supply the core of the plant with the ContiRoll® Generation 9, a length of 30.4m and a production width of 8.5´.

The scope of the JSC Murom project covers all raw material processing, from round timber thawing technology through debarking to the production of top and mid-layer ranges, supplied by Siempelkamp subsidiary Pallmann. Büttner will supply a drum dryer that has been specially developed to meet material requirements, as well as an energy system that is fully integrated into the process chain. By using wood waste, the energy plant not only supplies the process heat for round timber conditioning, material drying and the ContiRoll® hot plates, but also ensures enough power to heat the production halls.

The Italian Siempelkamp subsidiary CMC will supply the complete material processing, including filtering, gluing and sprinkling technology. The entire planning engineering, carried out by Sicoplan from Belgium, is based on millimeter-accurate CAD data generated using laser scans. Sicoplan measured the future site with state-of-the-art drone technology to ensure planning reliability based on the actual local conditions.

This ultra-modern continuous press offers numerous technical innovations. For example, even the smallest deviations in product tolerance are detected immediately and eliminated at their origin through ultrafast control technology, completely decoupled from external process influences. This procedure ensures near zero-defect production.

Also standard in the current series is the newly developed ContiRoll Ecodrive technology with a two-stage gear train. The servomotor system offers an energy-saving potential of at least seven per cent in full-load operation and up to 14 per cent energy savings in partial-load operation – with top efficiency levels. Last but not least, Siempelkamp’s scope of delivery also includes the finishing line, connected to an automated warehouse system.

With the new investment, CJSC “Murom” will produce 50,000m² of OSB Advanced boards daily for the domestic market. This will more than double the production capacity of CJSC Murom to 550,000m³ annually. Installation is planned for 4Q/2018. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2019 and operations, by spring 2020.
