Siempelkamp finishes MDF plant inspection for Kastamonu Entegre

The first MDF board was produced on 6 Feb 2023, followed by the final inspection on 27 Mar

On 27 Mar 2023, Siempelkamp finished their final inspection for a medium-density fibreboard (MDF) plant in Balıkesir for Turkish wood-based panel producer Kastamonu Entegre.

The new plant, containing Siempelkamp’s ContiRoll in the 8ft x 63.7m format, will be used to manufacture standard grade MDF, lightweight MDF (L-MDF), and high-density fibreboard (HDF). The products are placed in both the local and export markets where the furniture and flooring industry can benefit from them.

From the start of assembly to final inspection of the plant, the process took nine and a half months between June 2022 to March 2023. “The ramp-up curve to final inspection of the scope of delivery in just seven weeks stands out in particular within the entire timeline — a super performance by both teams,” said Ulrich Kaiser, head of sales, Wood Division at Siempelkamp.

This is not the first time Siempelkamp and Kastamonu Entegre collaborated. Back in 2020 and 2021, Siempelkamp also completed a particleboard plant at the Turkish city of Samsun for Kastamonu Entegre within nine and a half months, despite COVID-19 restrictions.

Excellent teamwork between the plant operator and supplier, and clear and fast communication were cited as reasons for the short project timeline.

As of January 2023, Siempelkamp has began installation for a new particleboard plant at the Kastamonu city site for Kastamonu Entegre.

According to Siempelkamp, this is the tenth plant in the chronology of continuous presses that Kastamonu Entegre has ordered from Siempelkamp so far.
