Cameron Krauss has joined Senaca Sawmill Company, one of the largest producing single-location sawmills in the United States, as its new senior vice president of legal affairs where he will oversee legal and public policy matters for the Seneca Family of Companies.
“Cameron is a seasoned leader with a solid background in legal affairs, both business and regulatory, and also has extensive experience in the policy arena,” said Todd Payne, chief executive officer of Seneca.
Krauss earned a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from Oregon State University, and went on to receive his JD from the University of Oregon. He was raised in the industry and joins Seneca after spending over a decade with another local forest products company serving in a similar role. Along with handling Seneca’s day-to-day legal activities, he will continue to play a major role working in the natural resource community. He has served on several industry association boards and is currently both the Chairman and the Legal Chair of the American Forest Resource Council.
Krauss succeeds Dale Riddle who is transitioning into retirement after a long and distinguished career at Seneca. Dale will continue working on special projects through the balance of this year. Dale said, “We are extremely fortunate to have Cameron join our team here at Seneca. I have worked closely with Cameron for years and do not know of anyone who has a better command of the issues facing the forest products industry today.”
