SCM reconfirms its attendance at Interzum, the main trade event in China for woodworking machinery held in Guangzhou from 28 to 31 March 2021, at Hall 11.1 Stand A01.
The Group was one of the first Italian companies to invest in China almost twenty years ago and has continued to record a growing trend in terms of turnover on this market, even in 2020. This is thanks to a vast range of unique products and services at international level that meet the various demands for wood-working, as well as a know-how of seventy years of experience in the industry and a specific engineering team, capable of accompanying market businesses in “turnkey” factory projects with tailor-designed, high-tech solutions.
“Despite the difficult health situation linked to COVID-19, in 2020, SCM recorded a double-figure increase in its turnover on the Chinese market and managed to accomplish important results,” pointed out SCM’s China Country Manager, Damiano Bragie. “Thanks to the experience of our technical and sales teams, we have produced complete system projects in close collaboration with leading industry customers, by handling every aspect of the product manufacturing. In 2021, we predict a growth in orders led by the hi-tech solutions that we will take to the trade fair and the conclusion of a series of important ‘turnkey’ projects on which we have been working since the end of 2020”.
SCM at the trade fair
At the event in Guangzhou, SCM will present a new design and new concept for the first time. The exhibiting area in Hall 11.1, stand A01 will have a completely new look and feel; sturdy, solid, industrial and more in line with the Group’s solidity and closer to the production framework of its partner companies.
The Smart&Human Factory will take centre stage, featuring the new digital factory model that has been automated and custom designed according to the actual production needs of customers’ businesses, with two main aims: to optimise and simplify the production processes, even in the most flexible machinings, and achieve a top quality product.
Cell for a “batch 1” flexible production
Visitors to Interzum will receive a clear demonstration of SCM automate and custom designed solutions exclusively for the Chinese furnishing and design market. The flexible cell designed and developed for “batch 1” production of furniture components, with an average output of 800 panels per shift, is proof of this.
The key advantages are those of an extreme machining flexibility, a fixed and just in-time production flow and an excellent end product quality, thanks to the special features of the technological solutions on display.
All the benefits of the gabbiani s sizing machine are highlighted:
- up to a 30% increase in productivity with the FLEXCUT 1s unit for simultaneous longitudinal and transversal cutting;
- fast, accurate tool setting with the SAW-SET device;
- maximum precision even on more complex longitudinal cuts thanks to a special device for panel de-tensioning cuts;
- maximum loading capacity thanks to the lifting system that is always parallel to the stacks of panels.
In the special configuration on display at Interzum, gabbiani s is integrated by a 30 level vertical storage for storing pieces between the sizing and edgebanding processes.
The storage acts as a “plenum”, given the high speed at which the sizing machine operates, with the advantages of keeping the production flow steady between the two processes.
Taking centre stage will be the stefani xd, the latest SCM technology for industrial edgebanding and an ideal solution for the production of components for furniture with the most advanced design and the use of state-of-the-art materials.
The key advantages include:
- a surprising finishing quality thanks to the AirFusion+ technology that allows you to edge without glue, making the joint between the edge and panel invisible;
- maximum versatility: all the panel’s parameters can easily and rapidly be changed (type, colour, edge thickness, position and depth of the mortise, management of the protective film, panel dimensions, etc) without ever interrupting the production flow.
The edgebanding machine will be integrated with an industrial articulated robot for the automatic loading, re-introduction and unloading of the panels.
A further guarantee of optimisation and simplification of the process is given by the software coordinating the robot’s work:
- on exiting the vertical storage, all the information about the panels (sizes, colour, materials etc.) can be acquired thanks to the software, by reading the QR code;
- the same information is used by the software to coordinate the robot and edgebanding machine during the various passages through the machine to unload the pieces.
SCM Surface Technologies
Visitors to Interzum will also have a chance to discover the SCM Surface Technologies turnkey solutions, to machine 3D surfaces that are of particular interest to companies that work in the flooring, wall cladding and modern furnishing industry.
For the first time ever, a specific corner will be set up for the finishings sector with elements entirely produced with integrated technologies for sanding and painting in the Superfici Tech Center in Villasanta (Monza) and the SCM tech Lab in Villa Verucchio (Rimini).
This will give them a chance to admire live the fantastic three-dimensional effects achievable thanks to the exclusive carving unit of the dmc system wide-belt sanders and the Superfici compact’s impeccable spraying, combined with the exclusive excimer technology of the new excimatt system capable of providing an appealing “soft touch” effect and a new surface resistance.
Together with sanding and spraying technologies, it will be possible to see products produced by sergiani 3d form hp press, with membrane or membrane-less processing cycle for high productivity.
Highlights of the other key technologies on display
The “morbidelli m” range confirms itself globally as the benchmark for CNC machining centres. Thanks to its solid structure, the 250 mm piece transit, the 5-axis Prisma KT and the Flexmatic work table, morbidelli m200 can perform not only every kind of panel machining, but also those for solid wood.
At Interzum, morbidelli m200 will be equipped with a special application developed in collaboration with Lamello AG, to offer a one-hit machining process that gives a quick and cost-effective way to work with 90-degree butt joints without the need for glue.
No second machining is required: the whole process can be completed on a single machine with high levels of speed and accuracy.
Also in evidence stefani md, the perfect edge bander for all companies who require continuous production of a large number of panels even though they are all different from one to another. High productivity and extraordinary level of finishing quality find in this model a perfect combination. Perfect joint line and great versatility of use are guaranteed by the “SGP” glue pot which allows you to use both EVA and Polyurethane glue with a top gluing quality. The range has a new look even on the software side with Maestro active edge for error free usage and maximum performance.
