The wood processing technology company has moved up from Bronze to Gold, placing it among the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis over the past 12 months.
Raute has been awarded an EcoVadis Gold Medal for its sustainability performance, placing it among the top 5% of companies assessed by the sustainability ratings provider over the previous 12 months.
EcoVadis evaluates companies across four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
The award marks an improvement from Raute’s previous Bronze rating and reflects its efforts to strengthen sustainability management across its operations and value chain.
“Achieving EcoVadis Gold is an important external recognition of the progress we have made and the direction we have deliberately taken as a company,” said Mika Saariaho, president and CEO of Raute.
“Our strategy is to be the partner to future-proof the wood industry, with sustainability embedded in how we innovate, operate and create customer value. This recognition shows that our efforts are making an impact and strengthens our confidence that we are moving in the right direction,” he added.
Sustainability forms part of Raute’s strategy and operations. Its ESG agenda focuses on developing products and services that improve resource efficiency in the engineered wood products industry, supporting climate action and sustainable growth, strengthening sustainability throughout the value chain, developing a diverse workforce, and promoting health and safety.
The company said it would continue to advance its sustainability work while supporting customers in improving production and resource efficiency, as well as long-term competitiveness.
