When Pfleiderer, one of the leading companies in the wood industry, wanted to update their production facilities and enhance the quality of their wood panels to an even greater extent, they looked to Argos Solutions in Norway.
The Pfleiderer Group is a leading European producer of high-quality wood-based panels for use in the furniture, flooring, interior fittings and construction industries. In 2020, Pfleiderer generated consolidated net sales of around EUR 1 billion and employed approximately 3,450 in staff. Their production facility in Gütersloh, Germany produces chipboards that are finished into decorative panels. To ensure that the quality of the panels meet the strict requirements to the end users, two Argos Melamine Faced Chipboard systems have been installed on site, and one is in the final phase of production and testing in Norway.
“Pfleiderer is a company that does not compromise when it comes to quality,” said Dr. Björn König, Executive Manager of the Pfleiderer location in Gütersloh. “We already knew that Argos was a leading supplier in the market, and the decision to select them was based on the combination of innovative and modern systems, the digital performance, and their excellent customer service.”
“The Argos Systems are well engineered solutions that work great in difficult production environments, and at the same time they are intuitive and easy for our operators to use,” concluded Dr. König. The Argos Grading System is a powerful and effective system for automating the inspection of all types of surface defects in decorative surfaces. The optical inspection system checks the surface for the smallest defects and monitors the production process continuously.
“We are proud to be selected as a supplier to Pfleiderer, who through 125 years has proven to be one of the most innovative and quality conscious companies in this industry. For a Norwegian company like us, this delivery is a great acknowledgment of our competence and ability to deliver modern technology and systems in world class. Our strong relationships with other leading panel board manufacturers in the market gives us experience and an advantage that benefits new customers. We look forward to developing this partnership as well as contributing to more efficient production processes in Gütersloh,” said Torsten Kahl, Sales and Marketing Director in Argos Solutions, Germany.
