Malaysia’s exports of wood products are forecast to rise to RM23 Bn this year, up from RM21.86 Bn last year, according to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities.
Deputy Minister Nasrun Datu Mansur said the government will do all it can to develop local talent for the wood products sector, a key contributor to the economy. In the first eight months of this year wood product exports rose seven per cent year-on-year to almost RM16 Bn.
