EU imports of other joinery products (mainly doors and LVL for window frames) increased a further 4 percent to EUR690 million in 2016, following a 22 percent increase in 2015.
Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia and Ukraine made significant gains while China lost a bit of ground. China is still the single largest supplier of joinery products to the EU.
EU imports of wood flooring fell nine percent to Euro 540 million in 2016, mainly due to a 11 percent decline in imports from China. EU imports of “other processed products” (mainly classified under HS 442190 and not separately identified) remained stable at EUR2.02 billion after a 17 percent gain in 2015.
The region still buys about 56 percent of “other processed products” from China.
