German woodworking machinery manufacturer HOMAG is featuring their EDGETEQ S-500 edgebander at LIGNA 2023, but with a new workpiece system specifically to debut at the trade fair.

The EDGETEQ S-500 offers high flexibility in edgebanding and feed rates of 20m and 25m/min.

According to HOMAG, the last LIGNA they added the MS40 multi-stage trimming unit, the MF60 Servotrim multi-function trimming unit, the BF40 fine trimming unit and the MZ40 multi-stage scraper unit to the EDGETEQ S-500, further enhancing the machine’s utility value.

They also added the new AG12 gluing unit for optional use with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) or polyurethane reactive (PUR) glue which allowed processing of individual strips up to 12mm as standard, and also required less space in the basic version.

In the run-up to LIGNA 2023, HOMAG is making available the WZ14 workpiece feed system, which was previously only available for higher series, for the EDGETEQ S-500 series edgebanders.

The WZ14 guides the workpieces with pressure from the top, supported by the format delivery, which is responsible for exact parallel cuts as a prerequisite for correct angles. In this way, even coarsely formatted workpieces can be processed optimally.

A further addition to the EDGETEQ S-500 is the LOOPTEQ O-600 gantry return, which automatises the returning and stacking of workpieces, thus allowing an interlinked material flow with high performance.
