SmartLam North America has announced they will build a large scale glue-laminated timber (glulam) manufacturing facility in Dothan, Alabama, US, with Ledinek as the supplier of their machinery.
Ledinek reported that they will supply their finger jointing machine Kontizink, the edge glue press Z-Press, the Rotopress, and the new Flexipress Column for Splitbeam with staggered lamination placement, for the glulam plant.
Derek Ratchford, CEO of SmartLam North America, commented: “We were looking for a turnkey project provided by a global industry leader in automated glulam beam and column manufacturing.
“After researching our options, we identified Ledinek best fit our scope. Our experience tells us that Ledinek designs and builds high quality equipment that is over designed and produces the high press pressures required to successfully laminate southern pine.”
Recently, Ledinek has also supplied infeed equipment and finger jointing machine for Stora Enso’s cross-laminated timber plant in Czech Republic.
