Ledinek equipment for Smartlam glulam facility on their way

Preparing the equipment to be delivered to the US

Ledinek has announced that the initial shipments containing equipment for Smartlam’s new glue-laminated timber (glulam) production facility have left their manufacturing site in Hoče, en route to the Port of Savannah.

Back in December 2022, Ledinek announced that they will be supplying SmartLam North America the equipment for a large-scale glulam manufacturing facility in Dothan, Alabama, US.

The automated plant, which will be designed, fabricated, installed, and commissioned by Ledinek, including staff training, comprises various Ledinek machines, including the high-speed continuous finger jointing system Kontizink H 4000, the edge glue press Z-Press 18, the Rotopress pressing solution for glulam production, as well as planers such as Superles, Stratoplan, and more.

The machine delivery is projected to span over five months, according to Ledinek. In January 2024, the initial installation team will kick off their on-site work.
