Jiangsu becomes China’s next key timber trading zone

A new timber industrial estate in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, will soon become a major national base for timber trading and processing.

Jiangsu Wanlin International Timber Market, a RMB4.5 billion investment, will handle import, export and manufacturing. Over one million cubic metres of timber will be traded here.

The new development is part of Jingjiang Port at the Yangze River Delta, which has a capacity of 100 million tonnes. Seven companies have since established their factories at the new estate and combined, manufacture about 1.3 million cubic metres of wood products annually.
