Japan’s wooden furniture imports fall 18.5 percent in October 2016

Japan’s wooden kitchen furniture imports declined 18.5 percent in October year-on-year but were slightly higher than in the previous month.

Vietnam continues to be Japan’s top supplier, accounting for 38 percent of total imports, followed by the Philippines at 33 percent and China (13 percent). Both Vietnam and China saw exports rising while sales from the Philippines dipped slightly compared to a month earlier.

Together with Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, Japan buys almost 90 percent of its total wooden kitchen furniture from Southeast Asia.
