New developments and solutions in a varied range of products spanning from cabinet doors to new overlay textures were behind the high interest from interzum 2017’s record-setting crowd.
From the 15th to the 19th of May, 69,000 visitors hailing from 152 nations – a 19 per cent rise from the previous show – converged in Cologne, Germany, to attend the world’s largest tradeshow for cabinet and casework production, furniture, and interior construction that featured 1,732 exhibitors, a 13 per cent increase, sprawled over an 185,000sqm exhibit area.
Of the 69,000 visitors, more than 51,000 came from outside Germany, and the number of visitors from North America rose by 26 per cent this year.
“It was the best interzum yet,” COO of Koelnmesse GmbH, the show organiser, said to Woodworking Network. “interzum has reached a new level with the rises in visitor figures, the growth in exhibitor numbers and the increase in floor space combined with measures to enhance the event’s quality.”
