India-based wood panel producer CenturyPly has produced first fibres with its recently installed Andritz pressurised refining system at its medium-density fibreboard (MDF) production plant in Punjab, India.
At the same time, the company placed an order for another Andritz pressurised refining system for its MDF line in Andhra Pradesh, India. This will be the third system supplied by Andritz to CenturyPly.
Himanshu Shah, president MDF business at CenturyPly, said: “We have been working with Andritz Panelboard since 2016 and have always been impressed by the superior fibre quality we receive from Andritz’s well-proven technology.
“Our two existing lines are operating smoothly, and we appreciate the high energy efficiency throughout the entire process. We trust in Andritz as a reliable partner and look forward to our third collaboration.”
According to Andritz, the new fibre preparation system will have a design capacity of 37 tonnes per hour and process eucalyptus and poplar wood chips for producing high-quality MDF. Its start-up is scheduled for H2 2023.
