Wood is Australia’s favourite material and more than half of the country polled are likely to choose wood over other materials, according to a new research by the Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA).
The latest results also show that the preference for wood is on the rise as the most used material for renovating, furniture and redecorating. About 62% of the respondents indicated that they were likely to choose wood over other materials, compared to 57% in May last year.
“The steady increase we have seen in the preference for wood indicates there is an opportunity for industry to capitalise on the consumer sentiment by ensuring they are offering the widest possible range of wood and wood products,” said Ric Sinclair, managing director of FWPA.
The positive findings will also provide a solid launch pad for future promotions and related activities, he added.
