A research study released by Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) revealed that rising consumer awareness concerning environmental issues will likely result in an uptick in the forestry and wood products industry. Conducted by Pollinate, a firm based in Sydney, Australia in May 2016, the study is part of FWPA’s yearly consumer research study devised to audit the market for wood as well as wood products.
According to Architecture & Design, recent research into consumer perceptions regarding the environment and the changing climate suggest that wood and wood products are being increasingly seen as positive for carbon sequestration and reducing emissions. Results from the study from May 2016 indicate that advancing consumer understanding regarding the potential forest and wood products have to sequester carbon may increase their usage.
