FIMMA + Maderalia 2026 will introduce a new area dedicated to industrial robotics for timber construction, featuring live demonstrations of automated manufacturing technology.

German timber machinery manufacturer Hundegger will lead the demonstrations, showcasing its Robot-Compact 650 machining centre.

The system is equipped with a six-axis robot and is used to automate the machining of structural timber elements. It can carry out processes including cutting, milling, drilling, grooving and complex assembly operations without the need to reposition the workpiece.

According to the event organisers, the system also features an automatic tool changer and is intended to support greater automation and more efficient use of production space.

Focus on industrialised construction

The new robotics area expands FIMMA + Maderalia 2026’s coverage of industrialised construction, alongside its established focus on technology and machinery for the wood, furniture and carpentry industries.

The event will also introduce the Industrialised Construction Show, a dedicated exhibition area for companies and suppliers involved in advanced construction systems, offsite solutions, timber structures, industrialised components and related technologies.

Together, the two areas will cover different stages of the industrialised construction value chain, from production machinery and automation to construction systems and materials.
