EGGER’s successful showcase at BAU in Munich

From 16 to 21 January this year, the BAU in Munich once again became the meeting point for everyone in the construction industry.

As the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials, and systems, it attracted about 250,000 visitors and under the motto “Opening night”, the international audience was introduced to innovations from the Furniture and Interior Design, Flooring, and Wood Construction divisions.

The show had also once again provided the wood-based materials manufacturer EGGER the perfect stage to present its products and services.

Throughout the show, visitors at EGGER’s 400 m2 booth received information about various design and construction opportunities in the Furniture and Interior Design, Flooring, and Wood Construction divisions: EGGER Design+ Flooring, future-oriented solutions for wood construction, and in particularly the first public presentation of the new EGGER Decorative Collection 2017-2019 for retail, handcraft, and architecture.

“The BAU fair 2017 was very successful for EGGER. Our exhibition stand very much attracted a lot of visitors from all customer groups on all days of the trade fair. In addition to many fabricators and architects, we welcomed a particularly large number of international retail and DIY customers at our stand. Our visitors were very much interested in our product innovations. We had some good talks which reflected the overall positive sentiment towards the present business situation and a positive outlook for 2017,” concluded Ulrich Bühler, head of Sales & Marketing EGGER Group.

Highlight: the premiere of the EGGER Decorative Collection

The highlight of EGGER’s trade fair presentation was the launch of the new EGGER Decorative Collection 2017-2019, which included decor and surface innovations as well as an expanded product and services offer for retail, handcraft, and architecture. The collection was an inspiring range that offers numerous novelties, hence, resulting in a comprehensive solution for the challenges faced by customers in their daily work. With 300 decors, a service-oriented product offer, and a set of matching decors and materials, the wood-based materials manufacturer provided a quick, reliable, and successful system. Fabricators and architects had also received excellent support during each project phase; from the first idea to the final implementation.

Inspiring trade visitors with new design flooring

The trade fair presentation of the wood-based materials manufacturer also focused on the flooring segment where it introduced EGGER’s new flooring category, EGGER Design+ Flooring. In addition, popular laminate flooring and the Cork+ Flooring were also featured.

The new design flooring is suitable for all types of rooms as it is aesthetically pleasing and highly resilient. The core of the design floor consists of a double sealed, high-density, wood-based coreboard: the Ultra Wood Fibre Board (UWF) while the floor’s cover layer is made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). With a material thickness of only 5 mm, authentic decors, high resistance, high shape stability, and a SelfRepair effect, this flooring is particularly well-suited for public and commercial use.

Flexible for indoors and outdoors

At the BAU in Munich, the wood construction sector also focused on future-oriented solutions for wood construction. Wood-based materials manufacturer presented a terrace decking board known as EGGER Thermodecking, which is made of domestic pine.

The thermal treatment used for the board reduces its susceptibility to insects and fungi, hence, increasing the durability of the boards to an impressive 15-25 years.

The EGGER Ergo Board, the so-called “one-man board” also expanded EGGER’s building products offer as the versatile, ergonomic construction board only weighs 11kg and was developed especially for indoor dry construction.
