DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2016: Expect success

Three months before its launch, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2016 (22-24 March) has already shown signs of a resounding success, said organiser Deutsche Messe. 

“There is every indication that the 18th DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR will be bigger and have larger international reach than ever before,” said Martin Folkerts, director of Global Fairs at Deutschen Messe Hannover. “More than 1300 exhibitors are expected at the exhibition venue in Shanghai. Based on online registrations received so far we also expect a big increase in the number of trade visitors.”

DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR brings together various groups of exhibitors and visitors under one roof and offers a business platform for exhibitors and visitors alike. “Manufacturers of floor coverings enjoy excellent opportunities to display their products and innovations, while commercial buyers can find the perfect merchandise to meet their requirements for the coming sales season and discover the latest trends in the industry,” added Folkerts. “This success is not only reflected in the tremendous response the event has received, but also in the attendance of increasing numbers of market leaders.”

HORNBACH, one of the biggest operators of DIY and garden centre outlets in Europe, has announced that its order planning for 2016 will be finalised at DOMOTEX. This important date for buyers is especially attractive for the German chain store. It has recently set up a new import distribution centre in Hong Kong.

“We are interested in a broad range of flooring materials, including luxury vinyl tiles, laminates, parquet, bamboo, wood plastic composites, and outdoor decking. Of course, the decision to purchase is not made in just three days, but this event offers us a chance to meet numerous suppliers and see numerous products and designs at one venue,” said Klaus Götz, company head of buying at HORNBACH ASIA Ltd. “Regarding the origins of the products on display, there are no limits – countries from every corner of the world exhibit here. For us the trade fair is the place where we want to meet authorised traders, discover new products for our floor coverings portfolio and meet new suppliers of diverse products in the categories that interest us most. This is more effective and less time-consuming than visiting individual manufacturers.”

The event will also give a picture of current market developments, as well as make new contacts and generate business.
