Dieffenbacher today signed a new complete MDF line with Vietnam-based Thien Lam Dat JSC.

The signing ceremony took place at the German equipment manufacturer’s booth on the second day of LIGNA.

“After a long hunt, we are happy to find Dieffenbacher as a supplier. We are proud to be represented here and proud to announce this partnership,” Quoc Lich Dang, CEO of Thien Lam Dat JSC, said.

The green field investment in Bac Giang province, about 50km east of Hanoi, began 11 years ago, Mr Dang said, addressing a question on the period of negotiations with Dieffenbacher.

“We started studying technology for wood-based panels back then and visited at least 33 plants in Europe.”

Equipment for the new plant will come from Europe, including a 20-metre long CPS+ continuous press.

The press will be eight-foot wide and 20 metres long. Planned capacity for the line is expected to be 150,000 – 200,000m3 annually.

Raw material for the plant is predominantly acacia wood and mixed tropical species. It will come from a fast-growing tree plantation planted by Thien Lam Dat 11 years ago.

“We are happy that all our efforts came to fruition. I am sure it will be a successful project for Thiem Lam Dac,” Christian Dieffenbacher, managing director of Dieffenbacher, said.

“I hope we will have a successful cooperation. Thank you for your trust in Dieffenbacher, we will not disappoint.”
