Danzer companies Danzer UK, Danzer Veneer Europe and Interholco have passed the LegalSourceTM annual audit, achieving LegalSourceTM certificate for all three subsidiaries for five years.
“We have one of the industry’s most extensive and experienced procurement networks to ensure a reliable supply from responsibly managed forests,” said Hans-Joachim Danzer, CEO. “This certificate gives us and our customers a high level of confidence that our operations and our Due Diligence System for timber procurement conforms to EUTR requirements.”
Danzer was the first company trading in temperate and tropical wood to earn the NEPCon LegalSourceTM certification in 2014.
The EU Timber Regulation (EUTR), which prohibits the harvest and sale of illegal timber in the EU, came into force on March 3, 2013.
NEPCon is an international certification body, which provides tools—LegalSourceTM Standard and Due Diligence System—for addressing conformity with the EU Timber Regulation. The LegalSourceTM certificate is valid for five years and audited annually.
