Global industry leaders gather as the trade fair returns with a focus on digitalisation and sustainability.

CIFM/Interzum Guangzhou will return to the Canton Fair Complex from 28 to 31 Mar 2026, positioning itself as a key global platform for the furniture manufacturing industry amid a growing push towards smarter and more sustainable production.
Organised by Koelnmesse and the China Foreign Trade Centre Group, the event will operate under the theme Smart Revolution, spanning 180,000 sq m and bringing together around 1,600 exhibitors. Organisers expect more than 220,000 professional visitors to attend.
Widely regarded as one of Asia’s most comprehensive trade fairs for woodworking and upholstery machinery, furniture production and interior design, the event has drawn strong backing from industry leaders.
“As a crucial anchor in the Interzum brand family, Interzum Guangzhou is dedicated to reshaping the Asian furniture industry landscape,” said Matthias Pollmann, vice-president of Koelnmesse. “The 2026 fair will gather the pinnacle of global furniture manufacturing, promoting green, intelligent production and global collaboration to build a more structured industry ecosystem.”
Frederik Meyer, president of the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (Eumabois), described the event as an important opportunity to explore innovation and forge partnerships in a fast-evolving market, while Ian Chang, chairman of the Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA), called it a key platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and facilitating global business exchange.

The 2026 edition will feature an expanded international presence across five halls, with participation from leading organisations and pavilions including the German Pavilion, the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), American Softwood and the Malaysian Timber Council, alongside global brands such as IMA Schelling, Schattdecor, Interprint and Wemhöner.
New exhibitors, including Chiyoda, Decor Druck Leipzig and Eurochene will also make their debut, adding further momentum to the showcase of technologies spanning materials, components and production solutions.
Beyond its exhibition halls, the fair will host a series of awards and forums aimed at driving innovation and knowledge exchange.
The Interzum Guangzhou Awards will feature an upgraded international jury, including architect Naoki Terada and interior designer Dick Spierenburg, alongside experts in design and materials such as Sascha Peters and Kristina Meyer. Selected products will be exhibited at the fair as part of the awards showcase.
Forums such as Vitality of Sustainable Innovation to Life and Wood Vision 2026 will bring together industry leaders to explore topics ranging from smart manufacturing and emotional design to advanced veneer finishing technologies.
