Canadian sawmills increased lumber production by 2.3% to 5.8 million cubic metres from May to June. Lumber production was also up 5% in June compared to the same period last year, according to Statistics Canada.
Sawmills shipped six million cubic metres of lumber in June, up 4.4% from May. Shipments rose 4.1% in June compared with the same period last year.
