In September 2017, Brazilian exports of wood-based products (except pulp and paper) increased 25 per cent to US$251.5 Mn compared to the same period last year.
Total exports rose 12 per cent over the same period to 202,500cbm.
Tropical sawnwood exports were up 41 per cent to 42,500cbm while its value jumped 38 per cent to US$19.5 Mn.
Pine sawnwood exports rose 19 per cent to US$ 41.9 Mn.
Pine plywood exports were up 36 per cent from US$35.8 Mn to US$48.7 Mn this September. In volume terms exports were up 24 per cent.
Tropical plywood rose 23.5 per cent and 17 per cent in volume, from 13,200cbm (US$5.4 Mn) to 16,300cbm (US$6.3 million).
Exports of wooden furniture from Brazil increased 13 per cent to US$40.4 Mn.
