Best use of certified timber prize 2021 – World architecture festival announces new dates

The World Architecture Festival (WAF) will take place from 1 to 3 December 2021 in Lisbon. The Festival moved from the original dates in June, due to the ongoing uncertainty created by COVID-19. The entry deadline is now 7 May 2021.

For the third year in a row, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) will be sponsoring the Best Use of Certified Timber Prize, which rewards architects and project teams for using certified timber as the main construction material for buildings outstanding in sustainability, innovation, quality or aesthetics.

In the two years of running the pprize, 79 amazing projects were entered, 20 were shortlisted and two project teams took home the Best Use of Certified Timber trophy. All shortlisted projects impressively demonstrated the diversity in buildings made of PEFC-certified timber.

The entry deadline has moved to Friday 7 May 2021, to allow all projects completed by this date to enter the awards programme.
