The German machinery manufacturer has consolidated its sliding table saw and edgebanding machine production as it marks its 120th anniversary.

Altendorf has officially opened its new production facility in Minden, Germany, completing the consolidation of its machine manufacturing operations at a single site.
The facility was opened on 4 Sep 2026, during the company’s 120th anniversary year. Production of edgebanding machines has been relocated from Hüllhorst to Minden, which now serves as Altendorf’s only production site in Germany.
The company has invested a single-digit million euro sum in the facility. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Minden Deputy Mayor Thorsten Bülte, Angelika Buttler representing district administrator Ali Doğan, Altendorf CEO Rainer Hundsdörfer and head of operations Christof Malz.
Production under one roof

Altendorf now manufactures both sliding table saws and edgebanding machines at the Minden site.
Procurement, development, product management, production and administration are based at the same location, allowing the different functions to work more closely together.
The company said the consolidation is expected to bring common standards and more shared components, while reducing throughput times and shortages of parts. Staff can also be deployed more flexibly between operations, helping to reduce downtime.
Minden is Altendorf’s only production site in Germany. Its second plant in China remains closely integrated with the German operation.
Completing the realignment
The opening marks the final stage of a wider realignment that began in Jan.
The first step was a change to the brand structure, with the company’s entire machine portfolio, including edgebanding machines, brought under the Altendorf name.
On 1 Aug, the legal and operational merger into Altendorf followed. With the opening of the new facility, production has now been consolidated as well.
For customers and dealers, the machines themselves remain unchanged. The company said the main difference will be how its portfolio is supported.
Customers can now deal with a single organisation across the range. Enquiries, quotations and spare-parts requests no longer need to pass between separate companies.
Commitment to Minden
Altendorf is marking its 120th anniversary under the motto “From Pioneer to the Craftsman’s Best Friend”.
The company said its objectives include strengthening its position in premium machinery for the trade and continuing to develop occupational safety standards for sliding table saws.
Altendorf has also taken on apprentices in technical and commercial roles for the current training year.
“No future without origins,” said Hundsdörfer. “Only those who know where they come from can shape the future. That is exactly what we are doing here, with a clear commitment to Minden and to the people who work here. Customers have relied on their experience for 120 years.”
