The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) recently set up a booth in Architect Expo 2023, which ran from 25-30 Apr 2023 at Challenger Hall, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
The show was reportedly hailed a success as over 800 exhibitors ranging from designers to materials to machines came together for South East Asia’s largest building technology exposition.
John Chan, AHEC’s regional director for Greater China and South East Asia said: “It was great to see Architect Expo return with such vibrancy. My team and I were inspired by the application of American hardwood among the designers and specifiers we met and particularly the way in which they are reconsidering sustainable design.
“One designer we met uses off-cuts of American hardwood and upcycles them into beautiful designs. He was able to do that because American hardwood is not just pliable but also exceptionally durable.”
AHEC has a few other South East Asian events lined up in the coming months to show their commitment to the region: First is Malaysian Wood Expo from 18-20 Jun 2023, second is an exhibition with designer Nathan Yong in Singapore from 6-19 July, third in the Indonesia-based furniture manufacturing component exhibition IFMAC from 20-23 Sep, and lastly, VietnamWood from 20-23 Sep as well.
