North West Timber Treatments Ltd was acquired on 29th March, Monday, by Roger Mayor, who bought out his fellow directors, and brothers, Andrew, Henry, and Robert Mayor. The amount for the acquisition has not been revealed.
The company’s headquarters is located in Ashton-in-Makerfield, and it also runs depots in Skelmersdale, St Helens and Walkden. North West Timber Treatments offers building products, sheet materials, and timber supplies, as well as garden and timber products like decking, fencing, playhouses, and sheds.
Moore and Smalley’s corporate finance team advised Roger Mayor on the acquisition and transactions, offering their support with tax planning, fundraising, and deal management. Yorkshire Bank funded the trade.
“This deal has allowed three of the owners to exit the family firm and realise value from a business that has been built up over 30 years,” Damian Walmsley, a partner at Moore and Smalley, said. “Meanwhile, Roger and continue investing in and growing the business for the future.”
Roger Mayor said, “I am looking forward to building on my existing business and when it comes to future expansion I know that I have the right people in house and externally to help me.”
