According to a report in TEMPO, Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has indicated that 59 Chinese investors in wood and furniture businesses will relocate factories to Central Java.
The reasons given for the relocation include Indonesia’s stable investment climate and the easy licensing process in Central Java.
BKPM chief Bahlil Lahadalia requested for BKPM and the Central Java Government to continue to collaborate in pushing furniture investments in the province.
“BKPM has brought together furniture entrepreneurs from overseas with local furniture industry players. We hope they will soon be able to partner and build factories in Central Java,” he said.
