The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History at Tel Aviv University, is the first museum of it's kind in Tel Aviv. Designed by Kimmel Eshkolot Architects, the museum hosts a spectacular range of natural history collections of the University. It also serves as a centre for academic research for its natural sciences staff.

At 10,000 square-metres, the environmentally-friendly building is housed within a captivating structure composed of a wooden-panel shell. Symbolising a wooden "treasure box," it is thermally insulated to provide full climate control of the interiors. The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History will become an integral part of the city's cultural offerings and Tel Aviv University's campus, connecting its academic buildings with the botanical and zoological gardens behind.

The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History integrates both exhibition spaces and research activities within a modern building embraced by an insulated wooden shell. The main interior exhibition space will be on the lower levels while the upper levels are designated for the research laboratories for Tel Aviv University's staff. The researchers have access to the Museum's entire collections and have dedicated circulation and entrance paths. Both visitors and researchers will be visually exposed to one another in a series of choreographed encounters through designed architectural structures and glass windows.
