Second quarter sees Obtala producing more sawn timber
Obtala, a forestry management and agricultural group based in Guernsey, produced 30 per cent more sawn timber in the month of June as compared to the past three months. It’s sawmill in Gabon produced 3,800m³ of timber.
According to Proactiveinvestors, with orders at US$11 million, sales stood at US$7.3 million, and revenue was at US$5.9 million.
However, the group’s highest margin product is predicted to come from is its new veneer factory in Gabon that is expected to begin production soon.
“I am pleased to report another quarter of operational growth and improved controls as well as record volumes of sawn timber produced and containers shipped to customers,” Miles Pelham, chairman of Obtala, sais to Proactiveinvestors.
