Report from Brazil: Nov 2017 export update
Total exports of wood-based products increased 14.9 per cent YoY to US$243.2 million.
Compared to the same month a year earlier, the value of pine sawnwood exports increased 35 per cent to US$32.5 million. In terms of volume, exports increased 29 per cent to 213,700cbm.
Tropical sawnwood exports also increased, rising 33 per cent in volume to 42,400cbm. The corresponding rise in value was 25 per cent to US$19.2 million. Exports of pine plywood exports surged 57 per cent in value to US$55 million. In terms of volume, exports increased 36 per cent over the same period to 180,100cbm.
Tropical plywood exports increased 23 per cent in volume to 15,400cbm and from US$5.2 million to US$6.2 million, a 19 per cent increase. Brazil’s wooden furniture exports rose 7.9 per cent to US$41.2 million.
