Raute received an order worth more than EUR11 million

Raute Corporation received an order worth over EUR11 million (US$13 million) for a high capacity LVL layup line from Roseburg Forest Products, Inc., from Roseburg, Oregon, United States (U.S.).

The line will be delivered to RFP’s new laminated veneer lumber (LVL) mill in Chester, South Carolina, U.S., in late 2018. The new mill, with a capacity of 285,000cbm per year, will be one of the largest single LVL lines in the world, and will be equipped with equipment engineered and produced in Raute’s North American unit in Delta, Vancouver area, Canada.

RFP and Raute’s cooperation goes back many years, with Raute delivering numerous projects of various sizes to RFP’s plywood and LVL mills. To date, the largest project was RFP’s first LVL line in Roseburg, delivered in 2000.

Demand for LVL has been growing steadily in the U.S. in recent years, and by building the new mill, RFP will not only be responding to that demand, but also maintaining their strong market position. Raute’s extensive experiences from earlier deliveries as well as their leading LVL process technologies were the reasons behind their selection.

While the new order will not have an impact on Raute’s outlook for the remainder of 2017, it will strengthen their order book for 2018.
