Listed Chinese company acquires MAKA Systems

Nersingen, Germany - MAKA Systems GmbH, developer and producer of CNC special machines for wood, aluminum and composite processing, has been sold to the listed Chinese company CSG Smart Science & Technology Co. Ltd.

The relevant purchase agreement was signed on 23 August 2018 and after the fulfilment of certain conditions including the existence of the necessary approvals by Chinese authorities, the purchase contract becomes valid. At the present time, the acquirers expect a closing of the transaction by 31 October 2018 at the latest.

CSG Group is headquartered in Shanghai and the CSG Group, with 4,000 employees, has a turnover of approximately 300 million Euro. The company operates in the industrial high-tech sector and is China's market leader in smart manufacturing and smart logistics. The company has been listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2011.

In the negotiations, CSG had prevailed with the best forward-looking approach to several co-providers. CSG will accompany MAKA Systems into the next phase of growth. Appropriate funds are provided by the new owners. The Nersingen site will be strengthened through targeted investments in R & D and service.

CSG acquires MAKA Systems from the two private investors Dr. Paul Lerbinger and Dr. Thomas Rubbe, who acquired the company in October 2013.

MAKA Systems will continue to be led by Klaus Kern in the future. He had taken over the management in May 2012. "With the listed CSG Group as a partner, we will now systematically continue our growth strategy in Europe and especially in China."

Ruijun Yang, President of the CSG Group, has closely examined the Nersinger special machine manufacturer and his team, and was able to convince himself of its efficiency. "MAKA Systems' outstanding manufacturing solutions will continue to thrive in the fast growing Chinese electric mobility market, and CSG's high-quality industrial base in this market will play a key role," said RuijunYang.
