Jiangsu wood industry launches alliance to promote wood construction

Some key players in the construction industry have joined hands to establish a new alliance in Jiangsu, China, to promote wood construction in the province.
The new Jiangsu Modern Wood Construction Industry Alliance is made of 41 members, including Canada Wood China, Nanjing Tech University, Suzhou Crownhomes Co and Jiangsu Architecture & Design Institute. It is comes under the guidance of Jiangsu provincial MOHURD.
Launched on Dec 14, 2017, in Nanjing, the alliance marks the province’s long-term efforts to promote wood construction in the region.
The alliance enables members to share business opportunities and industry information via seminars, forums and field trips. All members are required to come together every two years to discuss industry updates.
Wang Hua, general secretary of Jiangsu Civil Engineering Society, commented that wood/ bamboo hybrid construction is the most environment-friendly way of construction and should be used more in hospitality projects.
More than 240 industry professionals from the private sector, research institutes and universities attended the launch ceremony.
