INDEX, the international interiors trade fair, has been postponed due to concerns surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic. Originally scheduled to take place in September this year, INDEX will instead run in May 2021.
Representatives of the fair organiser, dmg events, have shared their thoughts on the decision.
“We’ve made this decision based on concerns for the wellbeing of all involved in our event. The overwhelming response is that INDEX will be of more benefit for the whole industry by postponing it until May 2021,” says Andy White, Senior Vice President (Design & Hospitality).
Katie McBride, Commercial Director (Design), shares that “This global pandemic has impacted the interiors community in multiple ways, not least the ability to meet face-to-face and see first-hand the latest innovations in design and products. With this in mind, and considering the important role that INDEX plays as a platform to facilitate networking, trade, and business connections in the Middle East, today we are announcing the postponement of the event to 31 May – 2 June 2021, at Dubai World Trade Centre.”
INDEX is the predominant trade destination for interiors professionals in the Middle East, providing over 20,000 visitors access to a global range of suppliers and manufacturers in furniture, furnishing, fit-out, textiles, lighting and surface materials. The next edition will see even more features, products and innovations to support the interiors industry and will take place from 31 May to 2 June 2021 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
