The American Hardwood Export Council to return to The Malaysian Wood Expo in November.

The American Hardwood Export Council will be meeting with importers, AHEC members, designers, architects, associations’ representatives, buyers and manufacturers at The Malaysian Wood Expo in Kuala Lumpur this month. The exhibition, opens on 19th and will last until 21st November at the Putra World Trade Centre, promises to be an event that showcases the latest trends from high quality exhibitors from around the world.

The event is the joint brainchild of The Malaysian Timber Council and the publisher, Panels and Furniture Group of wood magazines.

Mr John Chan, long-standing director of AHEC for Southeast Asia and Greater China said, “We enjoy interacting with Malaysian businesses. They have innate understanding of the benefits and properties of hardwood given the strong indigenous hardwood export market. This means the people we work with in Malaysia are astute and well informed and understand the need for different species with different origins. It’s no surprise that it’s the third largest importer of American species in the region.”

The American Hardwood Export Council booth will invite visitors to learn even more about the wide range of quality American species available in Southeast Asia and the strong environmental credentials of American hardwoods derived from the responsible forest management that the U.S. has practiced for generations.

“We are hear to listen, to talk and to help” said Mr Chan. “We welcome anyone who is interested in the latest opportunities to come and have a discussion with us at  Malaysian Wood and see some of the work we have been doing in other markets around the world. We’ve also got plenty of information available to help those within the industry ensure that they are up to date and in a strong position to make an informed choice about the materials they use”.

The American Hardwood Export Council will be at Booth J21, Tun Kazak Hall 1, Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 19th -21st November.
